As a charter captain fishing Grand Isle and Leeville the last couple of weeks have seen the full range of conditions that challenge your knowledge. Low water days after a cold front have had us chasing Redfish in the shallows and this has been great. We still have shrimp coming out of the marsh and the reds are still running the shorelines like marauders fattening up before the cold really sets in. When the water is low the Reds do not always relate to structure so you have to cover a lot of water. Other days have seen clean high tides where the trout make a late season appearance. Last week was all about the Speckled Trout. Calmer weather between the fronts let the trout gang up in all the usualy spots in the bay and that allowed for a lot of catching. The trout should stay around until we get the really cold weather and muddy water conditions of winter but when that happens we will be right back on the redfish and sheeps as they are already ganging up.  For more fishing reports, like our Facebook Page at Reel Screamers Guide Service and when time allows check the reports on Youtube under Grand Isle Fishing Report.
